Round 1: Glengoyne 12 Year Old

Cost: $100 CDNRegion: Highland

NSC Comments:

  • Colour: Light wheat to honey
  • Nose: Mild nose, with some coffee
  • Palate: Tiny burn, Vanilla,
  • Finish: Nice middle-level finish
  • Rates like a traffic accident in your month (what the hell?)
  • Nothing offensive to it.
  • Slightest shock on the 1st sip
  • Few distinctive characteristics, but a nice balance.
  • Drinkability: 5.5 6.0 6.0 5.9 6.0 6.8

Round 2: Glencadam Reserva Andalucía Whisky

Cost: $108 CDNRegion: Highland

NSC Comments:

  • Colour: Pretty much the same color as the 1st one.
  • Nose: Orange, bit of alcohol
  • Palate: Apple, smooth, very smooth, complex, marzipan, almond paste
  • Finish: Sustained finish
  • Enjoyed it
  • Water changes it a lot, not necessarily in a good way. Leave it alone
  • Yummy.
  • Drinkability: 7.0 7.5 7.5 8.0 7.5 6.7

Bonus Round: Boneyard Canadian Whisky

Cost: $88 CDNRegion: East Van (yup really)

Fun Facts:

  • East Van. I’m thinking that all we need to say.
  • Only 150 bottles – thank the Lord for that.

NSC Comments:

  • Colour:
  • Nose: Minimum nose, pepper, toffee
  • Palate: Bleck
  • Finish: Makes you want to scrape your tongue
  • Pretty bottle
  • Rainwater with alcohol and some dirt
  • No one is running out to buy this
  • The heel should be gifted to your worst enemy.
  • Drinkability: 2.1, 2.5 3’. 2.3946. 2.0 . 2.1 2.5
