Round 1: Canadian Club – Barley Batch Edition

Cost: $45 CDNRegion: Canada

Fun Facts:

  • Canadian Club celebrates its 160th birthday in 2018 with this limited edition release. In this unique and flavourful expression, an aged malted barley whisky has been blended with Canadian Club Original 1858. This brings the toasted grain character of barley to the foreground, supported by notes of molasses, plum and oak.

NSC Comments:

  • Vanilla, sweet but not overly sweet
  • All agreed a dash of water makes it better
  • Hell of a bargain

Round 2: Highland Park Valknut

  • Peat in the nose, complex, smoke
  • Long lasting finish
  • No water chosen by the crowd
  • Smooth very nice. An improvement on the  HP 12 year

  • Strong nose – alcohol noticeable
  • Nice, nice smell to it
